Eng. Renaissance Festival

This week the weather has changed, the mornings were very chilly. It was quite hard to get out of bed, especially early in the morning going to the Renaissance Festival. The Festival was next to the city which is called Minnesota... somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

So that morning we wrapped up for the cold. When we arrived at the festival it was soo nice, even better than we have expected. Many local people were dressed in costumes of 17th century, and as a surprise the weather became warm that day as well.

The festival was sooo much fun there were loads of entertainment shows which was surprisingly fun.

Nevertheless there were many different dishes, very American dished, like huge dishes. Like huge turkey drumsticks, they are as big as your upper arm, NO your dads upper arm. However it is quite interesting to see... how the people are gulping and tossing down the food.

I have to be honest it is pretty hard to stay away from the food because it is attractive to try something out, but then... the amounts that you get are massive... After 2 different 'snacks' you had enough...

It was nice to see that everyone was dressed up like in the Middle Ages, knights, princesses and comedians. We had loads of American fun.

The days after were very sunny and about 24C not as expected - this was actually very nice so we took the change to go biking & jogging. The scenery is really beautiful here and there are still many places to discover...

Oh and in the middle of the week we had a storm, our Residence Advisor sent us an email:

Ladies,
In case of severe weather, go down to the basement and sit in the hall ways anywhere that there are no windows or very few windows. Bring a blanket or something with you so you can cover up with if weather does get rough.

Nichole, Residence Advisor

Well we didn't listen so we went out that night... bad idea...

We were soaked and sooo cold... that was not funny... so next time we need to think things over...

Next trip is to a Base Ball Game in the Twin Cities... looking forward to it...

Thank you for reading and hope to read something from you to :)

Smiles Lisa & Esther
